MONROE, La (KNOE) - 1. National Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is Saturday, May 11th
This is the nation's largest one day food drive, where people can place bags of non-perishable food items by their mailboxes in the morning, and their letter carrier will deliver them to the local Food Bank.

2. May is National Older Americans Month. I'd like to talk about hunger among the senior population. Louisiana currently has the highest rate of senior food insecurity in the entire nation.
The Food Bank is trying to raise awareness on this issue, as well as the solutions we offer. Our Senior Program serves over 1,400 seniors every month, but we can't do it without the communities support. For just $100, we can provide a box of food to a senior every month for a year.
