National Go Red Day

DELHI, La (KNOE) - National Wear Red Day is held on the first Friday in February every year to raise awareness about heart disease being the No. 1 killer of women. A typical cardiac rehabilitation program lasts 12 weeks and includes three sessions per week for a total of 36 sessions. All patients who exercise during this initial 12 weeks are placed on a heart monitor during exercise. All sessions are supervised by an ACLS certified team consisting of a physician medical director, registered nurse and exercise physiologist. Sessions last approximately 60 minutes. Exercise sessions consist of both aerobic training and resistance training.
