Update: Phillips was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. As we previously reported here: methamphetamine arrests are not unusual in north Louisiana.

Authorities say the mother of a 4-year-old who has been missing for a month has been arrested on an unrelated charge.

According to the Claiborne Parish Sheriff's Office, Sheila Phillips was arrested on a drug charge.

Her bond has been set at $50,000.

Phillips is the mother of Rondreiz Cortez "Junior" Phillips who has been missing since April 5th. After Junior disappeared, his mother said he was playing in the yard near their home on Howard Road in Lisbon, Louisiana. They have been unable to find him since.

Authorities and hundreds of volunteers searched the woods around Junior's home, in case he wandered off. Ponds were drained as well.

When we interviewed Junior's mother on April 9th, 2018, she told us she believed someone took Junior, saying, "Somebody picked my baby up out this yard; I don't care what nobody says, my baby, ain't never left up out this yard. He's never walked in no woods."

Two weeks ago to the mom's arrest, the man considered to be Junior's step-father was arrested. Nicholas Gilbert was taken in on an outstanding warrant for theft of scrap metal.

Rondreiz Cortez "Junior" Phillips has been missing since April 5th. He was last seen in the 100 block of Howard Road in Lisbon. He was wearing a white T-shirt, jeans, and rubber boots.

The FBI is now investigating the case.
