BASTROP, La. (KNOE) - Update: District Attorney Steve Tew says the child cannot be prosecuted due to the child's young age. He says the only thing his office can do is assess to the case to see what other charges can be presented outside the juvenile justice system.
Authorities in Morehouse Parish say a juvenile is facing charges after bringing a gun to school.
They say it happened Friday morning at Morehouse Magnet School in Bastrop.
We are told that there were no bullets in the gun and nobody was injured.
However, parents are upset they were not notified of the incident by the school district.
Superintendent David Gray says he takes full responsibility.
