UPDATE: Monroe teen charged with attempted murder, another arrest expected
Monroe police have arrested a teenager accused of shooting two people.
According to Monroe PD, 19-year-old Malik Capers was arrested on Thursday for two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Capers is accused of a Dec. 4 shooting in the 2800 block of Gordon Avenue.
Two people were shot. One in the foot and another in the hip area.
According to Capers' arrest report, one victim states that "5 guys shot at him." One of those people was identified as Capers.
The arrest report states that an argument preceded the shooting. The argument led to multiple people pulling out guns and shooting, according to the report.
Capers is being held without bond.
Police say a second suspect has been identified and they expect to make an additional arrest soon.
