Monroe teacher asking for donations for school supplies

A new teacher in Monroe is asking for help paying for school supplies for her students.
J.S. Clark Elementary School second-grade teacher Alyssa Reuther set up a donations page on
.
Reuther said she's hoping to raise the money for a pair of headphones for each of her students. She said they'll need them for a computer-based math program.
She said she's also trying to pay for a Scholastic magazine subscription for each of her 21 students.
She said she hopes these supplies will help enhance her students learning experience.
"It's a lot of the things that the schools can't fund on their own and we can't fund a lot with our salaries as teachers. It's really hard," she said. "But we also want them to have the best learning experience at school. And if we don't have those things, it's really hard."
She said she's hoping to raise $350 by the end of September.
