MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Monroe Sandbagging Locations

The city of Monroe is opening sandbagging locations ahead of another possible round of storms in northeast Louisiana. Storms could bring in another inch or more of rain this week.
According to the city, four sandbagging locations will open at 1 pm on April 16, 2019.

Saul Adler Recreation Center – 3900 Westminster Avenue
Marbles Recreation Center – 2950 Renwick St
Emily P. Robinson Recreation Center – 3504 Jackson Street
Benoit Recreation Center - 1700 Oaklawn Dr, Monroe, LA
The city says the Public Works Department will provide shovels, sand, and bags for residents to fill their own bags. Residents will be allowed to fill 25 bags.
Ouachita Parish Sandbagging
Shane Smiley, president of the Ouachita Parish Police Jury, says he plans an emergency declaration at Monday night's police jury meeting that will allow them to open sandbagging locations in Ouachita. West Monroe residents are expected to be able to get sandbags at the Ouachita Parish locations.
