Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo released from hospital after crash in D.C.
The mayor of Monroe has been involved in a crash while in Washington, D.C., according to a spokesperson for the City of Monroe.
The spokesperson says that Mayo was traveling by taxi on Wednesday to go see Congressman Ralph Abraham when the taxi he was in was hit by another vehicle.
Mayor Mayo was transported to George Washington Hospital for observation. The spokesperson says Mayo's vitals were good, but he was suffering from back and shoulder pain.
Mayo has since been released from the hospital and has returned to his hotel. The City says he plans to resume his schedule of meetings and workshops beginning Wednesday evening through the remainder of his time in D.C.
