MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities say they've arrested a convicted felon who was in possession of an AR-15 rifle and 15 pounds of marijuana.
44-year-old Robert Earl Robinson Jr. was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a month-long investigation by Metro Narcotics, according to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office. Investigators say through the investigation, they were able to get a warrant for Robinson's arrest on two counts of distribution.
Warrant in hand, authorities headed to Robinson's home on Elizabeth Street in Monroe, near the Tower Drive/Oliver Road intersection. Authorities say they searched the home and discovered the AR-15 rifle, two handguns, and ammo along with the 15 pounds of marijuana.
Investigators say Robinson was booked on charges of distribution of marijuana (2 counts), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon - all felony charges. He was taken to the Ouachita Correctional Center.
