Monroe PD looking for "dangerous" armed robbery and assault suspect

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Monroe police need your help to locate a man accused of a series of crimes in the area, including armed robbery.

They are looking for 19-year-old Kavari Latrez Jones.

Police say he is wanted on several charges, including armed robbery, illegal possession of stolen things, and aggravated assault.

According to court records, in one incident, Jones is accused of robbing two victims on Plum Street in July 2019. Records state that Jones was armed with a pistol and stole an iPhone from one victim and 75 cents from another victim.

Later in July, court records state, Jones was seen to be in possession of a vehicle that was reported stolen. Records state that Jones later crashed this vehicle when the owner tried to get it back.

In another incident, Jones is accused of pointing a gun at two people in a threatening manner and saying he would "get them." This happened on Sept. 7 on Lock Drive, according to court records.

Jones is also a felon who was convicted on a charge of simple burglary and sentenced in 2018. He is currently on probation.

Jones is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Jones is listed at 6'3" and 179 pounds. He is known to frequent the south side of Monroe.
