MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A Monroe man is accused of a shooting that happened after an argument over the opening of a door.
According to arrest records, the shooting happened in the 2200 block of Gordon Avenue.
Monroe police say Dennis Moran, 61, is accused of shooting the victim after an argument over someone not opening a front door fast enough.
Police say during the argument, Moran pulled out a gun and the victim tried to run away. The victim was shot in the upper thigh.
Police say Moran was only able to fire a single shot because his gun malfunctioned. Police say both parties were highly intoxicated at the time.
The victim was located in the 100 block of Forrest Avenue.
Moran was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
