MPD: Son accused of choking mom because she was talking to a man

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Monroe police have arrested a man accused of choking his mom and throwing her to the ground.

According to an arrest report for 34-year-old Sidney Berry, it happened Wednesday afternoon in the 2200 block of South Grand Street.

The victim told police that her son placed both his hands around her neck and squeezed. She says she lost consciousness for a brief moment, according to the arrest report. The victim then stated that he threw her to the ground.

Police located the suspect on Gordon Avenue. He reportedly told police that he choked the victim because she was talking to a man.
