STERLINGTON, La. (KNOE 8 News) - For Pageant Director and mother Brittany Elkins, Christmas truly
is the most wonderful time of the year. However, after seeing families struggling during the holidays on social media, she wanted to help the only way she knew how.

In a recent Christmas pageant, Elkins was able to collect almost 200 toys which will be distributed to 10 families throughout the region.

Elkins says these gifts are going to single parent households, kids with cancer and families who have lost their jobs.

She says every child deserves the kind of Christmas she had growing up and her hope is that this act of kindness will inspire
others to pay it forward this holiday season.

"I just can't wait to see their faces light up and I'm just grateful
that I was able to do this for them," says Elkins. "We're all a big family and we all just need to help each other...especially in this world right now."

Elkins is sending these gifts to families in several different cities, including Monroe, West Monroe, Sterlington, Farmington and Warren, Arkansas.
