Their previous location was closed after catching fire back in 2017. The program was operating out of the Zion Traveler Baptist Church prior to their move into the new facility in August.

Staff said they had a good experience working inside the church, but they're happy to be back in a school setting.

"We made the best that we could out of the small space that we did have, so now we're just loving that we have all the room in the world to do everything we can and just make it a bigger and better learning experience," said Mental Health Coordinator Christen Taylor.

The new facility includes a playground, cafeteria, gym, and larger classrooms.

According to Education Coordinator Juan Hooper, the community helped to make the transition smooth by donating everything from money to school supplies.

"We are so grateful to our city councilman, our mayor, and to even the parents who helped support us," she said.
