LSP investigating officer-involved shooting in Concordia Parish

CONCORDIA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Louisiana State Police say they are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Concordia Parish.

According to a news release issued Monday morning, state police responded to the shooting at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

Police say that the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office was involved in a chase with a shooting suspect in the Ferriday area.

They say a CPSO deputy discharged his firearm during the encounter with the suspect. Police did not further detail the specific circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Tyler Conner. Police say Conner was transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge for treatment. His condition was not disclosed.

No deputies were injured, according to state police.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
