(KNOE) - Musician Kanye West teased a possible U.S. presidential run and even suggested changing his name. He made the remarks during an appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival on Thursday.

Kanye said, perhaps jokingly, perhaps not, that he's eying a potential 2024 run at the nation's highest office. When people laughed at the statement, he responded, "What y'all laughing at?"
He also suggested that he would change his name to "Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West" in response to Forbes only estimating his net worth in the hundreds of millions despite what he says is his 100% stake in the company Yeezy, which they estimated would top $1.5 billion this year. Yeezy is a joint venture with Adidas.
"When people say it's crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y'all understand exactly what it is… It will be on the license plate."
It's not the first time West has said he would run for president. Back in 2015, Kayne said on MTV that he had decided to run for president in 2020.
He's still got time to run in 2020, but so far, he hasn't delivered.
The 2015 announcement was made, of course, before President Donald Trump was voted into office. Kayne appears to be a fan of Trump, so perhaps he just doesn't want to challenge the president.
Was Kanye being facetious? Maybe. Sometimes it's hard to tell.
