Honoring Louisiana Veterans

RAYVILLE, La. (KNOE) - More than 300 flags are flying at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville.

The Ouachita Parish Republican Women's Club donated the flags, and volunteers spent Friday morning placing them in the ground.

Once the flag is in the ground they dedicate it to the Veteran by saying their name.

They say it's all about respecting those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Randy Joiner is the Superintendent Northeast Louisana Veterans Cemetery and says, "You know, it's to honor these fallen Veterans, and we really can't do enough for them, and several times a year we have a flag placing like this to honor them. Especially at Memorial Day where we memorialize those who have passed on."

The full Memorial Day Ceremony will be Monday morning at 11 am.

They're inviting everyone to come to the Veterans Cemetery on hwy. 425, south of I-20, to honor our fallen Veterans.
