MONROE, La. (KPLC/KNOE) - Several Fred's stores in northeast Louisiana have been added to the list of stores the chain plans to close.
Fred’s announced plans on Thursday, May 16, 2019, to close 104 underperforming stores in the Southeast United States. Liquidation is expected to begin immediately and the stores are expected to close by the end of June.
According to new information released by Fred's, the company plans to close two stores in West Monroe, another store in Monroe, and a store each in Ruston and Bastrop. Their addresses are:
1701 N 18TH ST - MONROE
2615 N 7TH ST - WEST MONROE
207 WASHINGTON ST - WEST MONROE
2017 E MADISON AVE - BASTROP
7616 HIGHWAY 80 - RUSTON (GRAMBLING*)
*This store has a Ruston address but is in the Grambling area.
Fred's announced in April the closure of the Monroe store at 2350 Sterlington Road.
They also announced in April the closure of the store at 430 S. Bradley Ave. in El Dorado, Arkansas.
