UPDATE: 5-year-old grazed by bullet in Ruston late night shooting

RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - A shooting in Lincoln Parish leaves one neighborhood on edge. In a press release, Ruston Police stated they responded to a child being injured on Second Avenue, on Thursday night around 10:30.

When they arrived at the scene, they found an injured 5-year-old girl inside a home. The release states a bullet grazed the victim. She was taken to the Northern Louisiana Medical Center but later released with minor injuries.

Detectives conducted interviews and collected evidence from the scene. So far, there are no suspects, and officers have not made any arrests. Officers are working to find out where the shots came from and why they were fired.

Witnesses told KNOE they heard multiple gunshots. Some neighbors said they sounded like "fireworks."
