One dead in fire on New Natchitoches Rd. in West Monroe

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The State Fire Marshall's office confirms one person is dead after a home caught on fire on New Natchitoches Rd. in West Monroe.

The man has been identified as 58-year-old David Williams.

The fire started around 2 a.m. at the home in the 700 block of New Natchitoches Rd.

Officials say the fire started in the master bedroom. They're still trying to figure out how it started.

They say the male owner of the home was killed in the blaze.

Fire officials say they will release more information as it becomes available.
