Farmerville auto lot manager accused of stealing down payments

FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE) - A Farmerville auto lot manager is accused of stealing down payments for vehicles.

According to Johnny Gunter, liaison for the Union Parish Sheriff's Office, it happened at Premiere Auto Plex. Their business manager has been arrested on a charge of felony theft.

Investigators say 51-year-old Philip D. Jarrat of West Monroe stole nearly $32,000 in down payments from the dealership.

Jarrat was arrested on April 16th.

“Right now they are undergoing an audit to see exactly where this investigation is going,” Gates said. “This audit will determine the full extent of their losses.”

More charges are pending.
