Kay Katz, Ouachita Parish Police Juror and former Republican National Committeewoman, said voters from all over the political spectrum should be excited about the visit.
"It's especially wonderful for Republicans, but it's also so good for every man, woman and child in Northeast Louisiana," said Katz.
However, she said it could give the Republican party a chance to further unite Rispone and Abraham voters.
"President Trump and Congressman Ralph Abraham have energized Republicans and said, 'Go to the polls and vote Republican.' And I think, of course, that's going to encourage our people to go vote," she said.
ULM political science professor Joshua Stockley said combining those voters is key to Rispone winning the election.
"He has to have a significant number of Abraham voters show up to vote, and then vote for him," Stockley said.
But the professor said the rally could also push Democratic voters to the polls.
"It might remind them of the seriousness, competitiveness, and gravity of this race," he said.
