Daryll Berry withdraws from the race for House District 16

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Daryll Berry has withdrawn from the race for House District 16.

According to the Louisiana Secretary of State's website, Berry's is now listed as having withdrawn and his opponent, Frederick D. Jones, is now listed as unopposed.

Berry and Jones were among four candidates vying for the State Representative District 16 seat.

They both qualified for the November runoff after being the two candidates with the most votes on October 12.

Jones received about 50% of the vote but was just shy of winning the race outright.

Berry received about 23% of the vote.

These are the vote counts from the Oct. 12 election.
