Dallas murder suspect arrested in Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities say a man wanted on a capital murder charge in Dallas has been arrested in Monroe.

According to arrest records, 26-year-old Thomas Lucas Daniel was arrested Wednesday by Monroe PD. He was at a home on the 2600 block of May Street.

According to DallasNews.com, Daniel is wanted in connection with the shooting death of 58-year-old Barbara Berry. She was found dead on Friday in her Dallas area apartment. Police did not specify a motive but did say that Daniel had been staying with Berry and Berry's purse was missing.

Daniel was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center. Dallas authorities have been contacted. He is awaiting extradition.
