Crime Stoppers of North Delta releases 2019 crime statistics

CSND was started in 2018 as an expansion of Crime Stoppers of Ouachita, which started in 1984.

The organization serves 29 law enforcement agencies including Louisiana State Police, Ouachita, Richland, Jackson and Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Offices.

CSND has been credited with solving thousands of local crimes, recovering stolen property and seizing illegal narcotics.

According to a fact sheet from 2019, the organization received 981 tips, 2,452 tip follow-ups, 230 arrests and 139 fugitive arrests. In addition, 255 cases were cleared, 455 charges were laid and thousands of dollars of cash and illegal narcotics were recovered.

CSND allows tipsters to remain 100% anonymous and has a 24-hour accessible program to inform law enforcement of crimes.
