Youth mentor Ben Bickham tells us that Kairos Torch Youth Ministry program is an international prison ministry for youth. He says they talk about the Bible and how to live better and make better choices.

The ministry has also reached out to young men at Swanson Correctional Center, where Bickham says hundreds of them have joined the program and have moved on to a better chapter in life.

“We know stories of a lot of them and some of them becoming preachers and some of them are right here in the Monroe community, just doing great.”

On Saturday, March 7, the Kairos Torch Youth Ministry will be at the Tractor Supply Company in West Monroe for their community meet and greet. Bickhman says they’ll be selling tickets, which will be used to purchase meals for the youth.

Bickham says this community event is a great opportunity to learn more about the program and to hopefully gain volunteers to help mentor the youth.

The event is free and open to the public.

The event will be Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
