(KNOE 8 WEATHER) - The next 7-days will be very active here across NELA.
Let's start with today.
Clouds will return today along with a spotty shower or two as moisture returns from the Gulf.
A weak disturbance will increase our rain coverage as we head into Friday. This system is a slow mover and could trigger a storm or two.
Saturday another system, this one being much stronger, will eject across the Colorado Rockies. This front will arrive into the ArkLaMiss sometime Saturday morning. Right now it's hard to pinpoint the exact timing because there may be some convective storms ahead of the initial front. Regardless, you should plan on showers/storms Saturday morning/early Saturday afternoon.
The correct parameters are coming together for the potential of severe weather. Right now we have a slight risk (level 2 out of 5).
The biggest threats will be small hail, damaging winds, and possibly a tornado or two. Based on the data I reviewed this morning, nothing is screaming big tornado threat. With that being said, these details can easily change. You should have a way to EASILY receive weather notifications either via our KNOE weather APP or by liking our facebook page.
