MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Some upper-level cirrus clouds moved overhead this afternoon, and we'll see mid and lower level clouds increase tonight.
The cloud cover will help keep our temperatures a bit warmer than this morning, as we'll wake up on Friday to temperatures in the mid 50s.
Unsettled weather is coming heading into the weekend though as we watch a few upper-level disturbances cross our area.
On Friday we're looking at temperatures a bit warmer again in the upper 70s thanks to the southerly winds sticking with us.
We'll also have a pretty strong low-level jet and you'll likely see some low level clouds moving pretty quickly through the area.
We are expecting some showers and storms to develop by the afternoon and some of these could be severe with strong winds, damaging hail and/or a few tornadoes.
The chance for showers and thunderstorms lingers through the weekend with Sunday looking like another day for possible severe weather before a cold front sweeps through by Monday.
By the middle of the week we'll be looking at plenty of sunshine and a bit more average temperatures in the mid 60s.
