MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Chennault Aviation Military Museum held its groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for its new aviation park.
C.E.O and president Nell Calloway says the park will cover the planes the museum has fully restored over the years. "They're subject to sun, to hail, to rain, to the elements,” Calloway says. “So, we needed a way to try to protect them better.”
She says the park will also give the public the chance to view the planes as well. “Everybody loves airplanes. Men, women, children. They all want to come see airplanes. So, now they’ll be able to get up close and personal when we get the park built.”
Calloway says the plans for the park has been five years in the making. She hopes to have it completed within six months.
