CenturyLink Headquarters to stay in Monroe until 2025, source says
The headquarters of CenturyLink could remain in Monroe until 2025.
A source tells KNOE that Governor John Bel Edwards and CenturyLink reached a deal to extend the company's contract.
The current contract is set to expire at the end of 2020.
In November 2018, Governor Edward's Deputy Chief of Staff, Richard Carbo, said conversations about extending CenturyLink's contract have been going on for quite some time.
Carbo also said they plan to make an announcement fairly soon regarding CenturyLink's future. He says they are putting in powerful incentives to encourage the company to stick around.
The governor's office has not released details of the deal.
