JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Casino revenue took a nosedive across Mississippi in 2018's first month, falling sharply along the Gulf Coast and Mississippi River. State Revenue Department figures released last week show gamblers lost $151 million statewide in January, down almost 9 percent from January 2017's $166 million. Receipts fell 7 percent to $92 million at the 12 coastal casinos. The 16 river casinos posted winnings of $59 million, down more than 12 percent from $67 million in January 2017.
