Anna Gray Noe Sunday School Church Cook Book
Delora Walker and Nannette Flowers from the First United Methodist Church in Monroe joined us to talk about their new cookbook, "It started with an apple."
The book is $15 features a variety of different recipes from the church's congregation. Walker and Flowers say the money goes toward charities that they support, like the Salvation Army, Desiard Street Ministries, and the Wesley Foundation.
Members of the church also make salsas and jellies for the holiday season, which you can purchase at the church. Flowers says the proceeds from the jams and salsas also goes to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home in Ruston.
Flowers says it costs $5 to get items shipped to you if you can't pick them up at the church. The church is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
This Sunday, the church is hosting their Christmas for the Children service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. They ask that you bring an unwrapped gift or toy, which will be donated to the Salvation Army for their Christmas toy drive.
The church is located on 3900 Loop Rd in Monroe.
