Seventy one year-old Donald Austin died Thursday after battling the virus for more than two weeks

His family is not sure where he contracted the virus, but they say he did yard work during the mornings in Rapides Parish.

The Rapides Parish Police Jury says they have a Mosquito Abatement District, but it's not currently funded.

Meanwhile, Austin's family plans to bring more awareness to the virus.
