Every Friday is a good Friday with Roxanne Smith from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. Smith brought in a furry friend named Dotty.

Dotty is a 3 to 4-year old female Jack Russell mix who weighs 15-pounds and is currently looking for a forever home.

Smith says she is the perfect size dog for mid-age or older children and adults and is calm around all people.

The adaptation fee is $80 with voucher included that will go towards her being spayed, dewormed and given shots.

To adopt Dotty just stop by the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter on 417 Well Road, West Monroe.

Mardi Gras is upon us. The 14th Annual Krewe of PAWS Mardi Gras Pet Parade begins Saturday, February 15 at 11 a.m. in downtown West Monroe at Antique Alley.

Smith says the parade will include games for the kids, a costume contest for the pets, a float contest and much more.

The event is free and open to the public.
