Community members across Monroe are providing meals to children in the midst of school closures

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - While school-aged children are not in classes some members of the community are making sure that they still get meals.

Life Changers of Northeast Louisiana, Jesus Christ Over Everything and New Cannon Ministry are at the Emily P. Robinson Recreation Center handing out food for children from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Minister Damian Coleman says they plan to do this every day until school begins again.

"With schools being out, there's a lot of children that depend on those meals to get through the day," Coleman said. "There's a lot of children that depend on that nourishment for the day and we just want to make sure that each child has something to eat-that no child goes hungry-but we have to do that all together as one community."
