The President’s visit will mean changes to traffic patterns and road closures. For some businesses they think it could affect their hours and profits, but for Two Dudes Brew and Que, they’re seeing green.
“We anticipate seeing a lot of traffic coming through the heart of historic downtown Monroe, we would anticipate that being a great benefit to a lot of the businesses down in this area of the city,” said Chris Brown, Co-Owner Two Dudes Brew and Que.
This will be the first time a sitting president has visited Monroe since the Reagan administration back in the 1980’s.
For this restaurant, they’re seeing the silver lining and expect to still have plenty of customers.
“No matter what, unhappy or happy people, they both have to eat, and we’re hoping that they come here before they go there and get happy or unhappy,” said Kevo Meredith, Co-Owner Two Dudes Brew and Que.
The President’s rally will be this Wednesday at the Monroe Civic Center arena. The doors will open at 4 pm and the rally will start at 7 pm.
