Neighbors said they heard shots in the middle of the night, and that shootings happen daily in that neighborhood.
"3:30 I heard six shots, it woke me up," said Nicole White, who lives in the area.
Shots that left one man dead and neighbor Nicole White questioning her safety and her grandkids who play nearby.
"It's kids around and kids everywhere, and every day it's gunshots everywhere," said White.
People who live there, say they're sick and tired of the senseless shootings and want the city of Monroe to do something about it.
"This northside just done got worser than what it used to be," said White.
They say it's sad, but one neighbor says off-camera that it’s so normal to hear gunfire that he just checks on his family and goes back to bed.
White says it’s become a way of life.
"It's life, as long as they don't come up in there on me I ain't worried, but it's really hard to just say," said White.
Many people were shaking their heads and shrugging their shoulders in response to what happened.
They say the cycle of violence needs to stop once and for all.
"They really do need to do something about this northside shooting because every day every night it's somebody shooting somewhere," said White.
Police are still investigating what lead up to this death.
They said that they will be increasing their patrols in the areas of Adams and Flynn streets.
