3-year-old dies after 8 vehicle crash in Louisiana

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KSLA) - The Natchitoches Police Department says a toddler involved in a crash that left several injured and multiple vehicles wrecked has died.

Brandy Wiley, 38, of Natchitoches, is now facing a charge of negligent homicide after the 3-year-old child succumbed to his injuries Tuesday evening.

Wiley was previously charged with negligent injuring, reckless operation, improper lane use and disobeying a red light in the crash that happened on Monday.

The intersection of Keyser Avenue and E. Fifth Street was closed for several hours as authorities worked to investigate the cause of the crash.

Aside from the four vehicles involved, four parked vehicles were also damaged, according to the Natchitoches Police Department.

Several others involved in the wreck include Brittany Payne, 29, of Natchez, a 16-year-old and Ellen Walker, 60, of Natchez. Both Walker and the 16-year-old were moderately injured, according to NPD.

Wiley is being held without bond.
