SHREVEPORT, La. (KNOE) - Authorities have arrested a woman and a teenaged girl in connection with a homicide in Shreveport.
According to Shreveport police, 20-year-old Sarah Ritter and a 13-year-old were arrested in the death of 34-year-old Tawfik Gawbahy. The 13-year-old was not identified due to her age.
Police say Gawbahy's burned remains were found on December 1, 2018, by the Shreveport Fire Department after firefighters were called to put out a grass fire in the 3100 block of Murphy Street.
Police say they were able to establish probable cause for the arrest of the two suspects on December 5th. They say Ritter was booked into the city jail on one count of second-degree murder and the 13-year-old was booked into Juvenile Detention Center on one count of second-degree murder. The homicide is still under investigation.
