OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office says they made a major drug bust on Interstate 20 in the West Monroe area.
Deputies say on Jan. 21, they stopped Jose Luis Sosa, of Houston, for crossing the white fog line on I-20 and for having a broken brake light.
After being stopped, deputies say Sosa gave consent to search the vehicle. A K-9 was used in the search.
OPSO says nine kilos of suspected meth was found among tools in the vehicle. Nine kilos is roughly 20 pounds. OPSO estimates the street value of the meth to be $900,000.
Sosa was booked on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS II (Methamphetamine), Improper Lane Usage and Improper Equipment on a Motor Vehicle.
