18-wheeler hauling chicken catches fire in Lincoln Parish
An 18-wheeler hauling chicken caught fire Wednesday morning in Lincoln Parish.
According to the Lincoln Parish Fire Department, it happened just before 7 AM on the westbound side of Interstate 20 at milepost 82.
When they arrived on the scene, the fire department said, the passenger compartment of the truck was fully engulfed in flames and the fire had spread to the trailer.
No injuries were reported, but the frozen chicken cargo appears to be a loss.
Part of I-20 was closed for a short time while crews worked to contain the area. The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Dept. and Ruston Police Dept. helped with traffic control during this time.
It's unclear at this time what caused the fire.
