MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Monroe police have found an 11-year-old girl that had been missing since Tuesday.
Police say they found Tia McFarland safe on Jason Drive in Monroe after she asked to use someone's phone who recognized her from news reports. That person then called Monroe Police.
Executive Officer Reggie Brown says Tia appears to be in good health, and detectives will continue to investigate what happened.
On Tuesday, Tia reportedly ran away from her legal guardians in the Booker T. Washington neighborhood in Monroe and rode her bicycle to the Parkview or Trishell Apartments where some of her relatives live.
