OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, along with several other law enforcement agencies, announced on Tuesday that 106 arrests were made during recent multi-jurisdictional task force operations.
Law enforcement agents made the arrests over a two day period on May 30th and 31st, 2019. 40 arrests were made on outstanding warrants. 31 felony arrests were made, along with 35 misdemeanor arrests.
According to the sheriff's office, the following drug seizures were made:
- Marijuana: 36 grams, 8 cigarettes, 1 lb. 1 oz., 1 THC Cartridge
- Cocaine: 8 rocks, 41 grams
- Methamphetamine: 15 grams
- Ecstasy: 13,056.5 units
- PCP: 6 fl. Oz., 1 PCP cigarette
- Prescription Medication: 3 pints of Promethazine, 7 Hydrocodone pills, 44 Xanax bars, 60 units of Amphetamine
Eight firearms were also seized as evidence.
The sheriff's office says specific areas in Ouachita Parish, West Monroe, and Monroe were targeted during these operations.
The task force was conducted jointly by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, ULM Police Dept., Metro Narcotics, Union Parish Sheriff’s Office, West Monroe Police Dept., Louisiana State Probation & Parole, Louisiana State Police, West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office, Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office, and United States Attorney’s Office-Western District.
