Courtney Cole joined KNOE 8 News as a multimedia journalist/reporter in June 2019.
Courtney grew up in Fredericksburg, Va., a small town an hour between Washington, D.C. and Richmond, Va.
Prior to coming here, she was a career intern both on the local and national level. During her time in university, she was an Emma Bowen Foundation Fellow where she interned at WRIC-TV for three consecutive summers. In addition, she was a production intern with MSNBC Live with Ali Velshi where she spent the summer researching and helping produce content for the 3 o’clock show. She also had a multi-semester internship with WBTV where she had the opportunity to turn packages, write for air, produce content online, and she played a pivotal role in reporting on a campus shooting at her university on the last day of class.
Courtney is a 2019 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she majored in Communication Studies and Sociology. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the National Association of Black Journalists.
When she’s not out in the field, she enjoys cooking, watching a good TV series, and wine tasting.
Courtney looks forward to making ArkLaMiss her new home and telling the stories that matter in the community.
