Lucy Doll is a Meteorologist for KNOE 8 News.
Lucy joined the KNOE Weather Authority team in June of 2020. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Lucy has seen everything from tornadoes to ice storms. As a child, Lucy was terrified of thunder and tornadoes. Once she began visiting the local library and discovering books about clouds, her fear turned into fascination and wonder. Fun fact: Lucy won a contest when she was 6 for being able to name all the clouds in the sky. The prize was having the local ABC station meteorologist come and do the weather forecast from Lucy’s backyard! Lucy is now looking forward to sharing her knowledge and passion to help keep her community safe and informed during severe weather.
Lucy graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Atmospheric Science and a minor in Spanish. Lucy was actively involved in her sorority, Sigma Kappa, and her honors fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi. She also worked as a weekend weather forecaster at the local NBC affiliate. Lucy was an active volunteer with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri. She is also a sustainability advocate and is trying to reduce her carbon footprint one veggie burger at a time.
In her free time Lucy enjoys kayaking, biking, reading, and spending time with her cat, MongoJerry.
