Alexis Bellamy

Alexis started her journey into broadcast journalism by anchoring the Old Dominion University’s student-run television newscast ODU-TV News. She then earned a highly coveted internship with NBC affiliate WAVY 10 in Norfolk Virginia. Alexis graduated from Old Dominion University with a B.S. Degree in Communications. She started her career in Elmira, New York, as a weekend anchor/producer and weekday reporter.

Alexis moved to Monroe in March 2020 and anchors KAQY News Now. When she isn’t anchoring or reporting, Alexis loves trying new restaurants, watching musicals, enjoying foreign films and her newest hobby, kickboxing.

Originally from Northern Virginia, Alexis is looking forward to learning all she can about the Sportsman’s Paradise state, enjoying her time in NELA and becoming a part of this wonderful community.

Alexis is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
