MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Parish Ballet Company will make the statues at the Biedenharn Museum come to life this weekend, Saturday, March 12th for the second ever Statuesque.

“This is the second year we’ve done this. It’s really the first event we’ve come back from COVID with,” said Biedenharn Museum Executive Director Ralph Calhoun.

“It’s a fascinating event. We’ve had a lot of people who’ve called up and said, ‘I’ve heard about this. We saw the video on Facebook last year, we’re glad it’s going to be back’ and I’m glad it’s going to be back. It’s a really neat event for us,” Calhoun said.

It exposes people to all the museum has to offer.

“And it really focuses people into the garden. And the one thing folks may not know, is the way Emy-Lou Biedenharn designed the garden, our main lawn is actually called the ‘ballet lawn’. So it was set up with wings on the sides and the back for ballet and theatre. It’s really like an outdoor stage. You don’t see that but that’s how it’s set up,” Calhoun said.

Tulips will also likely be in bloom on the grounds, a beautiful and anticipated spring sight.

The event price includes the show, a tour of the Garden and Bible Museum and a Coke float. Performances will be on the hour from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
