WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The sound of sewing was heard throughout the West Monroe Convention Center on Friday as the North Louisiana Quilters’ Guild hosted their biannual Quilt Show. The show lasts two days and has quilts on display and vendors selling items for quilting. The guild wants to help bring more people to the love of quilting through the event.

“Our goal as quilters and the North Louisiana Quilters Guild is to promote the art of quilting, the funds that we use. We use it for classes so that we can learn more about the things that make wonderful quilters, and we bring in national teachers who come in and teach us techniques that they have developed in patterns that they have developed,” said the show’s Chair Lisa Taylor.

Ten quilts selected by members of the guild hang in the foyer as examples of great works. Tickets are seven dollars and include a raffle ticket and entry to educational quilting seminars. The Quilting Show is Friday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
