West Monroe man accused of twice exposing himself to child
WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior with a young child in West Monroe.
Aaron Chevelle Banks Jr., 25, was arrested on Oct. 13 on warrants stemming from two alleged incidents at a home on North 5th Street in 2020.
According to court documents, investigators with West Monroe police say the child reported that Banks touched himself and asked sex-related questions to the child while he was taking a bath. On another occasion, the child reported being stared at by Banks from the bathroom while he was engaged in apparent sexual activity.
Banks was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on two felony counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Banks also had two other outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest. He’s facing a charge of simple criminal damage to property after another alleged incident in 2021 in which he’s accused of grabbing a woman’s cellphone and smashing it on the ground.
Banks also had a warrant for failure to appear in court in reference to a domestic abuse incident. According to West Monroe police, it happened in March 2020. Banks was accused of punching and stomping on someone after she confronted him for disrespecting his mother, according to police. Records indicate Banks failed to show up for a hearing earlier this year.
