MONROE, La. (KNOE) -The increase in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant has forced hospitals to read adjust visitation policies.
St. Francis Medical Center has seen a rise in cases from just over six cases per day three weeks ago to over thirty COVID cases a day here in the past week.
Hospital officials made a call last week on July 20 to help limit exposure and be proactive.
“We are allowing one person per individual patient hospitalized to visit per day,” said Dr. Thomas Gullatt, Chief Medical Officer at St. Francis Medical Center
Staff at the hospital are continuing to check visitors for symptoms and require facemasks to limit the exposure of the Delta variant to others.
